1994: Conferred qualification of the Neurologist of the highest category

For 25 years worked in the 2nd Moscow State Medical Institute (since 1991 – Russian State Medical University, RSMU).

1989: Became Head of one of the first Russian Neurocritical Care Service of the 1st Moscow City Hospital, organized on the basis of the neurologic clinic of the 2nd Moscow State Medical Institute

Since 1997: Head, Fundamental and Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery Department of the Russian State Medical University

Since 2005: Director, Russian Stroke Research Institute of the Russian State Medical University.

2008 – 2012: Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation

May 21, 2012: Appointed Minister of Health by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation.
