Mark received a Bachelor of Science  degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania (USA)  and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Wharton School of  Business. He is based in Shanghai.

Since joining AstraZeneca in 1994, Mark  has held a number of various leadership roles, Including Marketing  Company President of the AstraZeneca Italian subsidiary company and Vice  President of Marketing and Sales Operations of AstraZeneca’s US  business. While in the US, Mark also was a Board Member for the  Christiana Care Network, one of the largest healthcare networks on the  East Coast.

Later, Mark led the marketing, sales and  commercial operations for AstraZeneca K. K. (Japan). Most recently,  Mark served as Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific where he was  accountable for the growth and performance of the AstraZeneca business  in 14 markets. While in this role Mark has also served as President of  AstraZeneca China, responsible for the company’s overall operations in  China and Hong Kong.

At present, Mark Mallon is responsible  for the growth and performance of AstraZeneca’s International region,  which predominantly includes AstraZeneca’s commercial businesses in Asia  Pacific, Russia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
